the last issue of the archie series of the shadow (number 8) seems to have had a variant cover

both covers are reproduced below – the sky is magenta on one + red on the other.  a brief check online suggests the magenta cover is the most common of the two

this does not look like a printing error as a result of one of the inks running out because the other colours are the same on both covers, implying all four of them were available when the issue was printed

it’s difficult to gauge how interesting this is to anyone, but as it doesn’t seem to be mentioned in the overstreet price guide or anywhere on the web as yet it may as well appear here in case somebody out there thinks it’s important
